Sudip Bose
Sudip Bose is an attending emergency medicine physician,〔(Emergency Medicine Physician )〕 educator, and combat veteran.〔(Combat Veteran )〕 He is also Indian American. He served as a physician on the front lines in Iraq for nearly 15 months.〔(The Battle Continues – Biography )〕〔( APL Colloquium )〕 Dr. Bose treated Saddam Hussein〔(Former Army doctor: I treated Saddam like any other patient )〕 shortly after his capture in December 2003.〔Operation Red Dawn〕 ==Veteran== During Operation Iraqi Freedom, Dr. Bose, as a US Army major, cared for thousands of wounded soldiers and Iraqi civilians. He provided front line emergency care during the peak of insurgencies in Baghdad and Najaf, and treated Saddam Hussein shortly after his capture. In addition, Dr. Bose was one of the only front line physicians in the Second Battle of Fallujah〔(Saving Soldiers, Winter 2005, Northwestern Magazine )〕 during the U.S. seizure of the city. When not on missions, Dr. Bose volunteered his free time by serving at the busiest trauma center in the world at that time, the Ibn Sina Hospital,〔(AOTA – Welcome Ceremony and Keynote )〕 Baghdad. He earned the Bronze Star, the Combat Medical Badge, and the Army Commendation Medal.
